Years ago I recorded this scene in my Moleskine sketchbook. I had a very vague memory of the colors, so I used whatever I thought would look right.
Again, my main focus was brushwork. Practicing laying the paint down and leaving it.

Ahh, "leaving it". That's the hard part - I only realize I should have stopped painting earlier when I've gone too far. This is lovely and leaves room for viewer.

Leaving it. That is one of the hardest things for me to do, I swear. Funny- someone referred to repeated brushstrokes in the same place as "licking." I got a great mental image from the work- cows at a salt lick. Licking, licking, licking...
